Happy Resurrection Sunday | April 12, 2020

Good morning First A.M.E. Zion Church. I pray that you remain safe and unharmed by the dreadful virus which has plagued our land. The world, as we know it, is experiencing a plague unlike any in recent history. Therefore, the Church must seek God for healing and restoration. The message this morning references the willingness of the Lord to comfort the people of God. The pardoning grace of the Lord has provided relief for Israel as they are to receive deliverance and blessings from God. Isaiah 40:1-11 illustrates a compassionate God whose relationship with Israel demonstrates a bountiful attribute found in our heavenly Father.

While we cannot gather to partake in Holy Communion, we can remember what the Lord has done in that we were given a Son, a Savior, the Lamb of God to take away the sins of the whole world. Thank God for Jesus, our mediator, and redeemer.

Remember to wash your hands regularly, and to use social distancing as practices to stay healthy and safe. If you wish to talk with me, then please contact my office as I am here for you and we will get through this together. Please remember to pray for our Seniors and our newest members. Thank you and may God Bless you.

Greetings Family,

I pray that you and your Family are healthy and safe.  The onslaught of COVID-19 virus is now at 26,697 cases with as much as 450 deaths in New York. No one demographic has gone unscathed from this pandemic outbreak, including the young, old, poor, or rich.  Therefore, we must do everything possible to stay safe. Please use safe distancing if you must go out in public. Remember to consistently wash your hands for at least the recommended 20 seconds with soap and water.

I am praying that the Lord will keep you safe and healthy. While we cannot meet at the Church, remember that you are the Church, the bride of Christ. Let your light shine from the privacy of your home. Keep your conversations with friends and relatives wholesome, and godly. Share the scriptures in discussions and invite others to pray with you during phone conversations and all manners of communication.

We mourn the untimely death of Juanita Jackson, one of our beloved Sisters in Christ. Sister Jackson was a kind and loving soul with a sweet Christlike spirit who shall be greatly missed. Please join me in prayer for her Family that they remain faithful and steadfast during these trying moments. I shall keep you abreast of any arrangements made to bid celebratory farewell to this beautiful soul who we shall meet again when all of God's children have gathered home.

Today's message focuses on prayer, and I hope it will enlighten and encourage you to remain faithful stewards of prayer. Please remember to send your offerings and tithes to the app or online giving.

Love you, stay healthy, stay safe, be blessed.
